Ivor Davies MBE was born in Treharris in South Wales and new resides in Penarth. He studied at Cardiff College of Art, Swansea College of Art before study at the University of Lausanne Switzerland and University of Edinburgh.

Ivor  completed a PhD on the Russian Avant-Garde before taking up a career in teaching at the inGwent College of Higher Education, retiring in 1988.



His a member of the Welsh group and was awarded the National Eisteddfod of Wales Gold Medal for Fine Art before receiving an MBE in the 2007 New years Honours list.
