Peter E Moore RWSW ARCA
I have BA (hons) in Fine Art from Newcastle University, and also a PGCE in Fine Art, Art Teachers Certificate from Cardiff University and have lived in North Wales since 1980.
I have spent many years walking the local coast, climbing the mountains with sketchbook in hand. I search for an abstraction that carries the emotive feel of ‘plein air’ drawing and painting, making numerous oil and watercolour sketches as I go. My paintings have become more abstracted with the discovery of the combined forces of nature pitted against our own weaknesses and natural forms take on an abstracted harshness.
I teach drawing and painting for the RCA. This gives me an enriching platform where I can pass on my artistic skills and experience. I have taught school children in Bethesda making sculptures from local slate based on the ‘Mabinogion’ in tandem with the National Slate Museum.
I regularly exhibit in the RCA, and also exhibit in Oriel Mon, Llangefni. I exhibited with Martin Tinney at Tegfryn Gallery and also in his Gallery in Cardiff.
(both now closed). Recently I exhibited at the newly opened Oriel Glasfryn , and in the Williamson Gallery in Birkenhead and with continuing RWSW exhibitions, and similarly at Oriel Mon. Llangefni. I also exhibit in the Mostyn Gallery Llandudno.
