Nicki Heenan RI Msc (Hons)

Nicki has had an extensive career in the Arts as a teacher, practitioner and administrator. She is a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour (RI), The Royal Watercolour Society of Wales (RWSW) and regularly exhibits at Mall Galleries, London. She holds a Master of Science degree and has completed post graduate studies in Cross Arts Workshops at Goldsmiths, University of London.


Nicki sees enjoyment of the arts as a holistic experience and is actively involved in encouraging people of all ages to engage with creativity. She managed and delivered Cross Arts programmes for primary schools in her Borough and was a pianist at the then HRH Prince of Wales’ Highgrove House performing music that reflected ‘The Joy of the Garden’ for visitors.

 

Nicki was a contestant in the TV series Sky Landscape Artist of the Year 2016. She has a busy career as a painting instructor and arts programmer in several countries including the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, United States and New Zealand.

 

Nicki Heenan has been recognised for her unique and investigative process of painting. The use of locally sourced colours are a feature of her work, which is often textured and layered. Frequently painting onsite, she uses watercolour and pigments to document the materiality of the landscape.
