In 2008 a successful application to The Arts Council of Wales brought funding for a six week project concerning National Trust sites on the Welsh Coast which are at risk from rising sea levels.
Subsequently, responding to familiar environments undergoing change has become a key concern as she seeks to capture a fleeting, yet telling, moment or to explore a major long-term impact.
Her work, vital, light and freely expressed, uses mixed media or acrylic on canvas or paper and ranges from small intimate landscapes to large unframed heavily-worked drawings. She usually develops several works in parallel from in situ ink and charcoal drawings and is currently exploring a small area of old woodland near Mynydd y Gaer northeast of Bridgend ( Yr Hen Goedwig series).
